(2)tâpwê mantôw ayâw ispimihk. kikîh-miyikonaw t-ôh-kiskêyihtamahk mantôw êh-ayât. kîh-pakitinêw t-ôh-kiskêyimâyahk. kîtahtawê, êkâ kêskêyihtamahko tah-ayât mantôw, kîtahtawê pakitinêw ê-kiw-osihât t-ôh-kiskêyimâyahk êh-ayât mantôw êwako. kîtahtawê kâ-pêhtamahk kêkway ispimihk, êh-pêhtamahk, âsay kikiskisinânaw mantôw ê-kîh-osihât t-ôh-kiskêyimâyahk êh-ayât mantôw. êkâ kwayask êh-tôtahk, mistahi sêkihik ôhi kâ-kîh-osihâyit mantôwa. osâm kisiwâk pêhtâkosiyiwa. kêkâc wanêyihtam ci-kiskisit mantôwa êh-ayâyit. êwakô ohci kîh-pakitinêw t-ôh-kiskêyimiht, iyiniwak t-ôh-kiskêyihtahkik. êwako anohc niya ntatoskân; êwakô ohci mêskanaw êh-mitimiyân, kayâs kisêyiniwak omêskanâwâw. êwako anohc niya ntatoskâtên. pêyak askiy êspayikih, awa kâ-pêhtâkosit iyikohk tâpiskôc êh-takosihk, êkospi kahkiyaw nâpêwak nntawêyimâwak, pêyak êh-kîsikâk, kahkiyaw iskwêwak, nah awâsisak, êh-ntotamawak mantôw kâkikê ta-kakwê-pimâtisicik nâpêwak, iskwêwak, awâsisak, êwako ê-ntotamawak mantôw. |
(2)Truly, there is a God on high. He has given us something by which we know that there is a God. He has set down one through whom we may know Him. Whenever we do not know that there is a God, soon He sets down one whom He has created that through him we may know that God exists. Soon we hear something in the heavens, and when we hear it, at once we remember that God has created that Being through which we may know that there is a God. He who has not done right, greatly frightened is he by that Being which God has created. Too near that Being is heard. That man had almost failed to remember that there is a God. For this purpose He has set him down, that He may be known, that men thereby may have that knowledge. At this I am now working; on account of this I am following the path, the path of our forefathers of old. It is with this I am now busy. Whenever one year has passed, exactly when this Being arrives who is heard by all, at that time I summon all the men, upon a certain day, all the women, and the children, and I pray to God that always they may live, the men, the women, and the children; for this I pray God. |
(3)êkwah anohc êh-pêhtawak êh-kitot ispimihk, niwîhtamawâw hanohc: «nêmah nîkân kotak askiy, êkospi takosiniyani, êkospi nka-ntomâwak nâpêwak; êwako otihtamâni, kîhtwâm êkotah ohci mîna kotak askiy, nêma kotak, ê-wîh-ntotamawak mantôw, kahkiyaw nâpêwak, iskwêwak, awâsisak êh-pîkiskwêstawakik, ta-kakwê-ohpikicik awâsisak, êh-ntotamawak mantôw.» |
(3)And so now, as I hear the Being that roars in the sky, I tell him now: «This future coming year, when thou arrivest, then I shall call the men; if I reach it, then again, in the year after that, I shall pray to God, speaking for all the men, the women, and the children; that the children may grow up I shall pray God.» |

(4)Greatly the men rejoice, when they hear me pray to God for their children, when a man hears it, that they may grow up. |
(5)ê-nisitohtahk, «tâpwê, kwayask!» itwêw. |
(5)When he hears what is said, «Truly, well spoken!» he says. |
(6)kisêyiniwak kahkiyaw êh-pîkiskwêcik, mantôwah ê-ntotamawâcik, kîhtwâm êkosi ci-kakwê-isi-wâpahtahk, êkosi ispayikih anohc k-êsi-wâpahtahk, kîhtwâm êkosi ê-isi-wâpahtahk, mistahi miywêyihtam mantôwa êh-miyikot k-êsi-ntotamawât. |
(6)All the old men speak and pray God that they may see it again, may see again this same seasonal rite that this year they see, and greatly rejoice that God has given them the opportunity thus to pray to Him. |
(7)«mistahi mantôw wiya kahkiyaw kêkway tipêyihtam, anohc kâ-miywêyihtamahk wiyah mantôw êh-miyikoyahk,» itwêwak kisêyiniwak. |
(7)«God Himself is fully the Lord of all things, at His gift of which today we rejoice,» say the old men. |
