(1)He who gave the Sun-Dance sometimes for three days and nights performed it. When it was hot, when it was sunny and hot, he prayed; he prayed to them who had told him to perform this rite, that it might rain, that water might fall. Very quickly indeed the rain would put in its appearance. It really would rain. They would roar, they who are heard in the sky, they to whom he had prayed. A very certain form of worship they had in this, as I myself have seen when they performed, worshipping in this wise. |
